Abstract

In India, as across the world, large-scale mining projects have primarily been located in forest and indigenous peoples’ (adivasi) lands. The historical conflicts between the adivasis and the state when mining projects have displaced and affected these communities have now spiralled into a region of war and violence, given the scale and number of mining projects being proposed in the adivasi lands.
