Abstract

Are large dams to be imagined as the temples of modern India? Currently, Union Government has appointed a committee of three judges and has announced the same in parliament. The committee has started its work, but given the slow pace of work that we have seen so far and for the reasons that Union government is not willing to disappoint Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, I don’t think the problem of Narmada will get solved earlier than the year 1975 at all.
