Abstract
Cotton (2006) underscores the difficulty of ever achieving teacher neutrality when teaching controversial environmental issues. She states that while teachers may want to adopt a ‘balanced’ approach to teaching contentious subject matter, such an approach is unsustainable within the classroom.
