Abstract

This is a review of the book titled Teaching Mathematics Through Problem-Solving: A Pedagogical Approach from Japan written by Akihiko Takahashi. The book was published in the year 2021 byRoutledge, Taylor and Francis Group. The author, Akihiko Takahashi, is currently a Professor Emeritus at DePaul University, Chicago, Illinois. He was a mathematics teacher in Japan and later served as an Associate Professor at DePaul University. With over two decades of experience in Lesson Study, he has played a vital role in bridging research and classroom practice. He conducted public research lessons, published widely on problem-solving and reflective journals, and promoted innovative teaching approaches, earning global recognition as a pioneer in Lesson Study research and practice.
