Abstract
This article is written with two purposes in mind, to illustrate
two important themes. The first is to highlight the fact that
even the most familiar settings can throw up surprises. The
second is to point out that in a sufficiently nurturing classroom
atmosphere, where the teacher and student are willing to listen to
each other and travel together along uncharted territory, a great deal
of learning can happen and students can go very far indeed in their
explorations.
