Abstract

The article examines Digambarpur Gram Panchayat’s experience of grassroots governance and community-led development. It highlights the role of women’s Self Help Groups (SHGs) and the Digambarpur Sarada Sangha Multipurpose Cooperative Society in promoting financial inclusion, collective savings, access to credit and women’s economic empowerment. The case demonstrates how local institutions and cooperative initiatives can strengthen self-reliance and participatory democracy at the village level.
