Abstract
The review examines Kunal Purohit’s H-Pop: The Secretive World of Hindutva Pop Stars through observations of Ram Navami processions in Ranchi, Jharkhand. It explores the emergence of provocative Hindutva music, its role in mobilising crowds and intensifying communal sentiments, and the relationship between popular music, religious processions and communal tensions in contemporary Jharkhand.
