Abstract
This opinion article examines the proposed integration of Indian knowledge systems into higher education, arguing that such an approach must be inclusive of non-Hindu traditions, tribal communities and diverse intellectual traditions. It critiques the proposal for potentially undermining the multidisciplinary spirit of the National Education Policy and highlights the importance of constitutional values, pluralism and scientific enquiry in shaping knowledge and education in India.
