Abstract
Chalk Out is a multilingual multimodal e‑zine that was born in September 2020 out of classroom conversations in an education course. During the pandemic, when Jamlo, a 12-year-old girl, embarked upon a 150 km journey, only to breathe her last, 50 km away from home, the students felt an immediate need to do something to express solidarity with the world of children and start asking questions about the state of education. Led by the students of BSc BEd programme, Chalk Out is our way of saying ‘we care’.
