Abstract
In the Malayalam film Ottaal (2014, directed by Jayaraj), the lives of two young boys are portrayed. One of them is Kuttapayi, raised by his poor and aging grandfather who rears ducks in the backwaters; and the other is Tinku who belongs to a wealthy family and attends a local private school.
