Abstract
The UNESCO-UNEP Congress on Environmental Education and Training (1987) agreed that ‘Environmental Education should simultaneously attempt to create awareness, transmit information, teach knowledge, develop habits and skills, promote values, provide criteria and standards and present guidelines for problem-solving and decision-making.’ Environmental Education (EE) can be a process that helps to develop the skills and attitudes needed to understand the relationships between human beings and their cultures and the biophysical world.
