Abstract

This article documents the community-led environmental conservation efforts of Kadbanwadi village in Maharashtra’s Pune district, where residents have responded to chronic water scarcity through collective management of local natural resources. It highlights the creation of water conservation structures, protection of grassland from open grazing and provision of water for wildlife. These initiatives have contributed to improved water availability and biodiversity while demonstrating the role of community participation in sustainable environmental conservation.
