Abstract

The report examines how the COVID-19 pandemic intensified economic and social inequality in India and globally. It highlights the sharp contrast between rising billionaire wealth and the widespread loss of livelihoods and increased poverty during the pandemic. The report argues that the crisis disproportionately affected vulnerable and low-income populations, exposing structural inequalities and emphasising the need for policies focused on equitable recovery and social protection.
