Abstract
The article examines the BJP’s appointment of Babulal Marandi as Leader of Opposition in the Jharkhand Assembly as an attempt to revive the party’s political presence in the state. It analyses the BJP’s electoral setbacks, Marandi’s political experience and Adivasi background, and the party’s strategy to regain support among Jharkhand’s Adivasi electorate, particularly in the context of the growing influence of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha.
