Abstract

The article reflects on the life and legacy of Shibu Soren, highlighting his central role in Jharkhand’s Adivasi assertion and the movement for identity and self-rule. Rather than assessing him solely through electoral or governmental achievements, it presents Soren as a mass leader who mobilised communities around justice, dignity and political self-determination, leaving a lasting and unfinished legacy in Jharkhand’s social and political history.
